PETALING JAYA, April 17 — Threats in the form of a live bullet and threatening note against a senior officer with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will only motivate the agency to dig deeper, according to commissioner Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad.
“I want those involved to stop committing such cowardly acts as it will not weaken the resolve of MACC officers to carry out the noble duties entrusted to them.
“In fact, such actions will only spur us on to ensure that the rights of the people are protected against corrupt influences and those abusing their power,” he said.
The officer, who found the items in his mailbox on Sunday, is said to be working on several high-profile cases.
Following the discovery, Selangor police chief Datuk Mazlan Mansor said police have so far received two police reports lodged by the senior officer attached to MACC Putrajaya and said a taskforce has been formed to investigate the case.
In a statement, Dzulkifli also thanked the police for their swift response to reports lodged by the officer in question, adding that the commission was ready to assist them with their investigation.
