KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 — PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has urged all parties to respect the provisions of the election law for the sake of peace and security, ahead of the 14th General Election (GE14).
He said even if political ideologies differ, no one has the right to create trouble which might cause disunity among the people.
“We (PAS) have long been prepared. So far, we have never committed any offence in the general election and we hope other parties too will remain consistent with the election law. PAS has brought a new political concept of a mature and healthy political culture,” he said in commenting on the dissolution of Parliament today.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today announced the dissolution of Parliament effective tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is faced with the challenge that his party was temporarily dissolved by the Registrar of Societies (RoS), insisted they would find ways to contest.
“This is the only opportunity to achieve democracy,” he said in a press conference today. — Bernama
