KUALA LUMPUR, March 31 ― The Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM) today said all motorists are now required to key in their six-digit PIN to complete transactions at outdoor payment terminals.

In a statement, it said with immediate effect, all outdoor payment terminals at petrol stations have been upgraded to use PIN entry when making payments with debit, credit, charge or prepaid cards.

"Cardholders who have not replaced their signature-based cards or have not selected or forgotten their PIN are advised to go to the payment counter in the petrol station to make payment," said ABM.

From July 1, 2017, signatures will no longer be accepted as verification for payments made with credit, debit, charge or prepaid cards.
