KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 — The Ummah Agenda Empowerment Convention (KPAU) 2 today passed six resolutions for debate at the Umno general assembly to be held from this November 29 to December 3.
Its chairman, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the resolutions covered aspects on education, economy and religion.
He said the first resolution was that Umno and its leadership should always ensure the continuity of the agenda on nation building and religion.
“Secondly, Umno should remain strong and to hold firmly to its principles, despite being slandered, criticised and belittled.
“Apart from that, Umno should focus on the aspect of educating party members based on the model by the Prophet in building a nationhood,” he said when speaking at the closing of the convention at the Putra World Trade Centre here today.
The resolution would be handed to Deputy Prime Minister and Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also carrying out the duties of the party deputy president.
Also present were Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor and Information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa.
Asyraf Wajdi said other resolution included on the need for Umno to be more substantive and wise in promoting policies, plans, projects and programmes that had been implemented.
“Subsequently, Umno and the leadership have to find the best formula to unite the Muslim Malays on the principle of Ta’awun or cooperation,” he added. — Bernama
