KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 ― Former Port Klang Authority (PKA) general manager OC Phang has been acquitted of three criminal breach of trust (CBT) charges over payments totalling RM254.85 million in the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) project.
News portal Malaysiakini reported that the acquittal was granted yesterday by Klang Sessions Court judge Slamat Yahya.
Phang was charged with CBT in 2009 involving RM98.7 million between October 1, 2004, and September 5, 2005. She was also charged with CBT of RM21.6 million between September 30, 2005, and May 9, 2006, and of RM134.55 million between June 1, 2005 and January 13, 2006.
Former transport ministers Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik and Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy were previously acquitted of cheating charges in the controversial PKFZ project.
