PETALING JAYA, Feb 5 — Six teenage boys, including four minors were charged in the Magistrate’s Court today with bullying two students by making them kneel and lick the road surface in Sea Park here, which went viral on social media last month.
Three of the teens, aged 17, pleaded guilty and another 17-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Two other youths, Tan Sze Keong, 18, a Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) leaver and Lim Khoo Boo Kean, 19, a college student, also claimed trial to the charge which was read out before Magistrate Fadzlin Suraya Datuk Mohd Suah.
The Court, however, has not sentenced the three juveniles who pleaded guilty as it is waiting for their probationary report and set March 10 for mention.
According to the charge, Tan and Lim together with the four minors allegedly forced two boys, aged 15, to kneel on the road and lick the road surface to humiliate them behind a secondary school in Sea Park, Kelana Jaya, here at 1 pm on Jan 29.
Magistrate Fadzlin Suraya released Tan and Lim on RM1,000 bail with one surety each, while the other four were allowed bail at RM500 with one surety each.
Deputy public prosecutor Saphirra Selamat appeared for the prosecution while counsel Datuk Suraj Singh represented Tan and Lim.
Last week, the recording of the bullying incident, involving the two 15-year-old male victims in their school uniforms licking the road, was uploaded on Facebook on Saturday and the 34-second recording went viral on social media. — Bernama
