KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 — PKR’s Rafizi Ramli today said he will not lower himself to Tan Sri Annuar Musa’s level by responding to the latter’s claim that he could be homosexual by association.
The Pandan MP said it would be degrading for him to stoop down to Annuar’s level of name-calling and cheap shots, even during debates in the Dewan Rakyat.
“Every time he stands up when he wants to debate with me, he will call me pondan instead of Pandan,” Rafizi said.
Pondan is a Malay word that describes an effeminate man.
“My stand has always been consistent, Annuar Musa is of my father’s age, he’s very old man, akin to my father so he should behave like one,” Rafizi added when met at the Dewan Rakyat lobby.
Annuar Musa earlier today railed at Rafizi for claiming that Bumiputera empowerment agency Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) — which Annuar heads — was delaying a probe on two of its officers involved in a property scandal in Australia.
The Ketereh MP claimed that one should not be guilty just by association and made a snide remark likening Rafizi to a homosexual.
“For example, someone in PKR was charged for being a homosexual. Can I also say that YB Pandan is also guilty of doing the same thing by association?” Annuar Musa questioned, sarcastically referring to former PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
