KUALA LUMPUR, March 20 — The marriage document of the prime minister’s daughter, Nooryana Najwa and her husband, Daniyar Kessikbayev posted on the social media, has been found to be false.

Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) director Paimuzi Yahya said information about the ‘mas kahwin’ and the ‘hantaran’ was incorrect while the document was not signed by the registrar of Nikah, Cerai dan Rujuk.

“JAWI wants to affirm that the ‘surat perakuan nikah’ posted online is false,” he said in a statement, here today.

It also include a copy of the false document which went viral on the social media with a copy of the original document.

The false document stated that the ‘mas kahwin’ was RM111 and the ‘hantaran’ amounting to US$500,000.

However, the original document obtained from JAWI shows the ‘mas kahwin at RM5,000 while the ‘hantaran’ was not mentioned.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak performed the ‘akad nikah’ or marriage solemnisation ceremony in Putrajaya yesterday.
