KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 — Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang entered the PAS headquarters here this morning for a party meeting ahead of the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) presidential council meeting this afternoon.
The PAS president, who has said he will join the PR presidential council meeting only if he feels like it, did not address the press as he entered the office.
Several Kuantan PAS Youth members shouted “Allahu Akbar” and “Hancur PasMa!” (Destroy PasMa) as Hadi arrived, referring to the PasMa movement.
Hadi said Friday that DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng had no right to dictate his attendance at the PR presidential council meeting that is scheduled for later this afternoon at the PAS headquarters.
PR presidential council meetings have not been held for more than six months after Hadi stopped attending them following the Selangor mentri besar crisis last year that saw the Islamist party attacking the other two allies in public.
Lim said Thursday that the DAP will not proceed with the PR presidential council meeting if Hadi does not turn up.
The PR presidential council meeting comes before the Federal Court is set to deliver its decision on Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's second sodomy case next Tuesday that could see the PR de facto leader going to prison for at least five years.
