KINABATANGAN, Sept 24 — A policeman was injured on the face when a gas tank exploded during a drug raid at a house in Kampung Pelangi near here yesterday.
Kinabatangan district police chief Supt A. Sahak Rahmat said the explosion occurred about 2pm following a scuffle between the police party and the suspects, who put up a fight to avoid police arrest.
The policeman, aged 32, was sent to the Kinabatangan Hospital for treatment and was discharged today, he said when contacted by Bernama.
He said police managed to detain the suspects, foreigners aged 23 and 29, and seized from them 5.8g of syabu, a marble rifle and a samurai sword.
The suspects, a Filipino and an Indonesian, tested positive for drug, he added. — Bernama
