KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 ― Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar today warned that the police will not hesitate to take action against any party pushing for the secession of Sabah and Sarawak from Malaysia.
He said these parties were challenging the constitution.
“They openly campaign and support this agenda, claiming that the Malaysia Agreement signed in 1963 was not being respected and the rights of the Sabah and Sarawak people are being marginalised,” he said in a statement here today.
He advised the parties concerned to stop harping on sensitive issues.
Last Tuesday, Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem described the proposal to secede Sabah and Sarawak from Malaysia as a foolish idea. ― Bernama
