SHAH ALAM, Sept 11 — Bukit Aman’s Special Tactical Intelligence Narcotics Group (STING) busted a drug processing lab at a warehouse and seized syabu and other drug related substances worth RM500,000 at Section U5, here last Friday.

Federal Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Noor Rashid Ibrahim said the warehouse located in an industrial park was believed to have been used to process Syabu on a big scale.

“The STING successfully busted the drug lab on Sept 5. The success was due to information from the public and police surveillance for about a month,” he told reporters here today.

Noor Rashid said police found 1.67kg of syabu in crystal form, six litres of liquid Syabu and 112kg of pills worth RM500,000,” he said.

Apart from the drugs, chemicals like hydrochloric acid, acetone, toluene and other equipment used for processing drugs was also seized, he said.

Noor Rashid said there was no one at the warehouse during the raid.

“We are trying to identify those involved, especially the owner of the premises. We believe those involved are locals with expertise in processing drugs,” he said. — Bernama
