KOTA BARU, June 15 — The Kelantan Umno Liaison Committee is willing to participate in the national-level technical committee on hudud implementation in the state.

Its chairman, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said however, it was up to the technical committee to determine the candidate from Kelantan Umno.

“We are open and will submit our findings on hudud to the federal government,” he told reporters after launching the Kelantan Health Department’s caring programme at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital here today.

The committee was set up by the federal government recently following the Kelantan government’s plan to table a Private Member Bill on hudud in the Dewan Rakyat to pave the way for hudud implementation in Kelantan.

At the function, Mustapha presented financial aid and equipment from the Malaysian Medical Welfare Fund amounting to RM70,523.68 to 13 patients and Hospimart royalties worth RM111,479.

Hospimart, a grocery store runs by the Malaysian Association of Medical Social Workers, has disbursed royalties totalling RM250,054 to 3,326 patients for three years from 2011. — Bernama
