RAUB, June 14 ― The government is not selective in its action against those in cahoots with militants based in foreign countries.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said authorities will investigate in a transparent manner and those involved will be dealt with accordingly.
“Action will be taken regardless of whether he is a policemen, military man, from the immigration or customs.
“I hope the investigation does not involve innocent people,” he told reporters after attending a wedding reception hosted by Pahang State Exco for Cooperatives, Entrepreneurship and Consumerism, Datuk Shahiruddin Ab Moin, here today.
Three people including a Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) personnel were arrested in Sandakan, Sabah yesterday for their links with militant groups in foreign countries.
Hishammuddin said the government will tighten security at the country's entry points, especially those in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESSZone).
“In this modern world, we can't prevent threats from outside. However, if we have ememies within our midst, then all the planning will go to waste.” ― Bernama
