IPOH, May 27 ― A policeman died yesterday after he was knocked off his motorcycle by robbers that he was chasing.
According to daily new portal The Star, he would have tied the knot this Sunday.
L/Kpl Mohd Azuan Abdullah died on the spot in the 10am incident near Alor Pongsu.
According to The Star, Perak police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said they received a call about a cigarette heist that had happened 30 minutes earlier.
Both Mohd Azuan, 25, and another colleague were responding to that distress call.
A Toyota Wish and a Honda Civic believed to have been used for the heist was spotted by the policemen, the paper reported.

SDC Acryl Sani adds, “During the pursuit, the driver of the Honda Civic knocked into Mohd Azuan.”
The the burnt Toyota Wish was later found abandoned at a banana plantation near the border of Lunas, Kedah, and North Seberang Perai, Penang.
North Seberang Perai OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rahman Ibrahim said police were searching the area for the robbers.
Mohd Azuan was to marry his 24-year-old fiancee in Sungai Petani, Kedah. His father, Abdullah Mahmood, 49, last saw the victim about three months ago before the engagement ceremony in Kuala Kurau, Perak.
Mohd Azuan will be buried at the Batu 22 Kulai Muslim cemetery in Johor at 10am today.
