SHAH ALAM, May 23 — The High Court here today sentenced a woman from Guinea, West Africa to death for two charges of trafficking in methamphetamine totaling 964.6g two years ago.

Judicial Commissioner Choong Siew Khim held that the prosecution had succeeded in proving its case beyond reasonable doubt against Aminata Sanoh, 32.

Aminata was found guilty of the first charge involving 600.2g, which were discovered in her baggage, at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang at 8 pm on July 30, 2012.

She was found guilty of the second charge involving 364.4g, which were discovered in her underwear, at the same place, time and date.

Deputy public prosecutor Mirza Muhamad called five witnesses while counsel Muhammad Hidhir Mustapa called one during the trial. — Bernama
