KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 — Members of the ‘Tuhan Harun’ cult have been urged to surrender themselves for questioning following the assassination of the head of the enforcement division of the Pahang Islamic Religious Department (Jaip), as reported in The Star today.
Police were investigating whether the murder was connected to the Ahmad Rafli’s investigation of Shiah activities and the ‘Tuhan Harun’ cult as part of his duties as an enforcement head.
“I advise them to surrender instead of waiting for us to coming after them,” Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said, as quoted in The Star today. He also added that the followers have been identified and are required to surrender themselves as soon as possible.
“We intend to question them over the murder of Ahmad Rafli Abdul Malek, 49, at his home in Kuantan yesterday,” he said while at a press conference after the launch of crime prevention based on Islamic teachings seminar.
“We will investigate whether the victim had received death threats prior to his murder.”
