KUANTAN, Aug 16 — Some powder and crystals believed to be syabu (methamphetamine) weighing a total of 0.8 grammes is reported to have been found in the wallet of a senior police officer who was seriously injured in road accident here yesterday.

A police source said the find was made by hospital staff after the officer was admitted to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital here.

“A plastic packet containing the powder and crystals suspected to be syabu was handed over by a hospital staff the police at the Kuantan police headquarters at noon yesterday.

“The plastic packet containing the powder and crystals was reported to have been found in the wallet of the officer who works in Pahang,” the source told Bernama here today.

According to him, Pahang police’s disciplinary unit had been instructed to commence investigations into the case. – Bernama
