KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 — It was a simple hug that spoke volumes.

A heartwarming moment between Muar MP Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman and his six-year-old stepdaughter, Ara Adreanna, following his wedding to singer-actress Bella Astillah today has touched hearts online.

Videos shared on social media, including Threads, showed Syed Saddiq carrying Ara in his arms as she wrapped hers tightly around his neck, in an affectionate embrace that drew warm reactions from social media users.

The touching scene was not the only sweet family moment captured on camera.

In another video, Ara and her nine-year-old brother, Ayden Adrean, were seen congratulating the newlyweds.

“Happy wedding day, Mummy and Daddy,” the siblings said.

The videos prompted an outpouring of affectionate reactions online, with many social media users touched by the warm interactions between Syed Saddiq and the children.

“The way Syed Saddiq carried Ara, and how she immediately hugged him tightly,” one social media user commented.

“Dear Ara Tempoyot, you deserve this kind of love,” another wrote.

Others expressed their happiness for the newlyweds and their family, with the tender moments becoming a talking point among those following the wedding celebrations.

Syed Saddiq and Bella, affectionately known to fans as BASS — a combination of their names, Bella Astillah and Syed Saddiq — tied the knot at about 10.40am today at Menara Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur, with the solemnisation completed after a single pronouncement.

The Arab-inspired ceremony, featuring an elegant white colour scheme, was attended by about 255 guests, including family members, close friends and prominent figures from politics and entertainment.

Syed Saddiq presented seven trays of wedding gifts, while Bella reciprocated with nine.

Among his gifts were a bicycle, a massage chair, a specially crafted gold piece depicting Mount Kinabalu, an umrah package and RM100,000 in Employees Provident Fund (EPF) savings through the i-Simpan facility.

Notable guests included former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin, former prime ministers Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir and former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

The celebrity guest list included Bella’s close friends, Malaysian actress and former model Toh Puan Syamim Freida and Indonesian actress Tya Arifin, alongside actor Azad Jasmin and comedian and television presenter Nabil Ahmad.
