KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 — A part-time ice-cream seller in Penang has melted the hearts of local TikTok users.
This is for his act of kindness of giving away free ice cream to persons with disabilities (PWD).
A TikTok video shared by user Meilo Ais showed the ice-cream seller selling his treats on a motorcycle parked at the beachfront of Bagan Ajam’s Rest and Recovery (R&R) stop.
A signage saying ‘free ice cream for PWDs’ can also be seen at the back of his motorcycle.
In the video, the ice-cream seller said he’s giving away the free ice cream because he had a bedridden PWD child who has since passed away.
He added that he has a day job working on trains and selling ice cream is his way of earning additional income to sustain his family.
The man is selling his cone ice cream for RM3 while he charges RM4 for cup and bun ice cream which comes in vanilla, durian and corn flavours.
Meilo’s video has garnered over a million views with over 170,000 likes.
Local TikTok users were seen applauding the man while some shared their own experience with him in the comment section.
“This abang’s ice cream is cheap. Last time I went to buy ice cream from him and I asked for no peanuts, he gave me an extra scoop of ice cream as replacement for the peanuts,” user Dot commented.
“I would always buy ice cream from this man whenever I’m in Bagan. He’s very hardworking, sometimes he would sell his ice cream until late in the evening. May all of us be blessed,” added user Syahmi Lahh.
