KUALA LUMPUR, May 2 — A Penang woman went the extra mile to make her Hari Raya celebrations a little more festive — by dressing her 61 cats in matching colour 'baju Raya' attire.

Raziellia Nor Saafri, from Batu Maung, told Harian Metro that the clothes were made by her mother, with a total of 17 meters of purple coloured cloth used.

“I look after 61 cats, mostly rescued from the streets. They are like a family and were not be forgotten this Aidilfitri — so they have their own 'baju raya'.

“This is the first year the cats have 'baju raya' as last year we could not make it in time,” she said, adding that the fabric was purchased at RM2 per meter.

The 32-year-old said she had harboured hopes to dress her cats with 'baju raya' for many years but lacked time.

“This year we went all out to prepare for it and the 'baju raya' was ready two months before Ramadan," she said.

Raziellia said it took her about 30 minutes to dress the cats.
