NEW YORK, Jan 18 — Anyone who has tried shaving their body hair will be familiar with the painful nicks that can occur should you have the misfortune to wobble mid-stroke — but bleeding legs could soon be a thing of the past, thanks to a clever new multidirectional razor.

The invention comes courtesy of beauty brand Schick, which has been producing razors since 1926. It is dubbed the “Intuition f.a.b.” — which is an an acronym for “forwards and backwards” — and comes in a hot pink colourway.

It boasts “bidirectional” blades that see the top blades shave in an upwards position, and the bottom blades shave in a downwards position, with the result being that users can change the direction of their shave without lifting the razor from the skin — or being afraid of hacking themselves to bits.

The blades are also surrounded by a moisture gel that conditions the skin at the time of the hair removal.

“The little rubbery pink strips on the cartridge act as a skin-stretching element to present the hair for efficient shaving,” Eric Kaplan, project manager of research and development at Schick’s parent company Edgewell Personal Care, told Popsugar.

The Schick Intuition f.a.b. is now available at drugstores nationwide, priced at US$7.99 (RM31.66). — AFP-Relaxnews
