KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 15 — Local actor and singer Wanns Ahmad has released his second single along with a music video (MV) after nearly eight years since his last release.
The Terus Mencintaimu singer is taking a bold step with his new release titled Makhluk Jalang Terbuang which touches on masturbation addiction — a subject which is still considered taboo for some.
Wanns or his real name Wan Nursalam Wan Ahmad was also seen teasing the message of his new song to his followers on Instagram for the past week building on to the release of the song.
In the postings, the 33-year-old was seen teasing a few one-liners to his bewildered followers which include lines such as ‘It’s exhausting to have to do it every night before bed’ and ‘Help, anyone knows how to stop this bad habit of masturbating before bed?’.
He finally answered his followers by releasing the full five-minutes and 58 seconds MV on YouTube on February 14.
The MV opens up with the message of ‘stop the habit of masturbating before bed’ and shows Wann struggle to hold back his urges.
After a brief ‘nightmare scene’, he decides to repent.
As reported by portal mStar, Wanns said that he did not choose to use the issue of masturbation addiction just for the sake of promoting his song but hoped to create an awareness amongst the public on the habit of masturbating.
"Yes, it can give us temporary pleasures but if it becomes a habit, it would only have bad effects on us in the long run.
"Although the lyrics may be generic, I’m brave enough to bring up this issue through my MV, which we may not know its true consequences yet,” he said.
Wanns added that he intentionally left his followers bewildered through his multiple Instagram postings previously, in hope that it could attract more attention.
"I’ve also held back from answering any questions and confusions on social media so I could leave my fans anticipating what’s to come.
"May they get the right message that I’m trying to share through this song,” he said.
The Makhluk Jalang Terbuang single is now available on YouTube and Spotify.
