SINGAPORE, Sept 10 — Hazy conditions continued today, with the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) reading entering the unhealthy range at 92 to 104 at 10am, rising from 90 to 100 an hour earlier.

The 3-hr PSI reading at 10am reached 126 after breaching the 100-mark at 3am and rising steadily since then.

In an advisory yesterday, the National Environment Agency said that hazy conditions are expected today with showers in the late morning and early afternoon.

A total of 140 hot spots were detected in Sumatra island yesterday, an increase from 38 detected on Tuesday, it added.

The 24-hr PSI is expected to be in the high end of the moderate range and low end of the unhealthy (101 to 200) range, and may further deteriorate if the winds are unfavourable. — TODAY
