FEBRUARY 13 — Living in Subang Jaya, I must say that I am impressed by the development of the new LRT tracks in this area. This ongoing LRT extension project is expected to be completed in 2016. No more waking up early just to rush for a parking spot at the station - the new line is only a few meters away from home. Yes!
I shouldn’t be getting too excited, too fast.
Two incidences this week (in the span of three days) left me reeling, if not questioning the reliability of our preferred mode of transport. Thousands of commuters were stranded on the station platforms due to multiple service disruptions.
Not too sure what caused these delays as most times they were left unexplained. We simply accept (sure!) the apologies from the deep boom voice coming from the PA system.
Is it maintenance issues? Scheduling? These breakdowns are becoming quite frequent of late. Every delay contributes to platform congestion; disgruntled commuters waiting impatiently and some scurrying for the next best alternative route. It’s chaos!
With the expansion coming on line soon, RapidKL should look into refining their service and rectifying any issues at hand. With joint forces from SPAD, I am certain that they can swiftly provide a more efficient and effective service for the comfort of every user (thousands of them).
