The Night Safari will be transformed into a sea of lights for its Twilight Encounters event, themed around the Safari’s famed elephant, Chawang. The park is decked out in fairy lights and animal light sculptures, and yes, visitors can see Chawang during a meet-and-greet session. There is also a light show with performers dancing and twirling specially lit-up props as well as a Paw-some Parade featuring elaborately costumed giraffes, zebras, and the iconic elephant.
Anime Festival Asia 2016

This popular event returns with an extensive line-up of programmes and activities for all anime lovers. Highlights include a guest appearance by Japanese comedian Daimaou Kosaka, better known to fans as Pikotaro. Theatre incubation platform Hatch Theatrics will be presenting its maiden production, which focuses on long-forgotten occupations in the Malay community. The word Cari Makan refers to a Malay expression that means “to earn a living”. Follow the journeys of two couples who take on these occupations — Mak Bidan (midwife) and Tok Mudim (circumcision specialist) — as they seek help from the bomoh (shaman) to have a child.

The 398.2 Storytelling Festival makes its return after a successful run last year that attracted over 3,000 people — with a bigger and better line-up of events till December 3. More than 16 storytellers are running multiple sessions all day today at Woodlands Library. Led by award-winning storyteller Roger Jenkins with his Story Line team, the audience can watch and enjoy tales performed by Republic Polytechnic Students.
