PADANG BESAR, Jan 11 —  In playing a role to help in the success of the Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2014 campaign, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) will organise an international border bicycle ride in April.

The aim of the PDRM International Border Ride 2014 on April 5 was also to promote the natural beauty of the Perlis border, said the direcotr of the Perlis chapter of the tourism and culture ministry, Anuar Abidin.

He said the 60km-border ride involving foreign participants, especially from Thailand, would be organised by the Padang Besar police headquarters, with cooperation from the ministry.

Speaking at a leisure cycling programme organised by the police headquarters here today, Anuar said the border ride would begin at the headquarters at 8am and end at the same location.

Raja Muda Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and Raja Puan Muda Perlis Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil are scheduled to take part in the event under the dignitaries invitation category, together with leaders from Perlis and Thailand. — Bernama
