KOTA BARU, Feb 9 — Kelantan United FC (KUFC) have filled up their quota of five foreign players after signing Brazilian striker Devid de Santana Silva for the Malaysia League (M-League) this season.

KUFC, who will feature in the 14-team top-tier Super League from February 24–December 17, have already signed four other imports, namely Jose Elmer Porteria (Philippines), Yan Victor Silva Paixao (Brazil), Morgaro Gomis (Senegal) and Ernist Batyranov (Kyrgyzstan).

KUFC chief operating officer Wan Mohd Zul Ikman said in a statement today that the 26-year-old Devid, who had played in Brazil, Portugal and Albania, signed the one-season deal yesterday.

He represented clubs like Avai (Brazil) from 2018-2020, KS Kastrioti (Albania) from 2020-2021 and SC Covilha (Portugal) from 2021-2022.

Wan Mohd said Devid had also featured in the qualifying rounds of the Uefa Champions League and Europa League.

“The team management believes Devid, who has also played in Europe, will be able to help us give a tougher fight to the other Super League teams this season.

“We hope he will give our attack a much-needed boost,” he said. — Bernama
