KOTA BHARU, Nov 11 ― Kelantan Football Association (Kafa) is retaining most of the current Kelantan players for the Malaysia League next season.

Its president Bibi Ramjani Ilias Khan said the players retained were goalkeepers Khairul Fahmi Che Mat and Mohamad Ramadhan Ab Hamid, five midfielders Mohd Rozaimi Azwar, Faizol Nazlin Sayuti, Mohd Syafiq Abd Rahman, Muhamad Fadhilah Mohd Pauzi and Muhammad Amir Zikri Pauzi.

The four defenders retained were Mohd Nasharizam Abdul Rashid, Mohamad Azwan Mohd Aripin, Faris Shah Rosli and Mohd Farisham Ismail as well as striker Fakhrul Zaman Wan Abdullah Zawawi.

“We will also be bringing back our defender, Nik Mohd Shahrul Azim Abdul Halim who was loaned to Negeri Sembilan to strengthen the squad,” she told reporters here today.

Bibi Ramjani said Kafa would also be keeping four Kelantan President Cup midfielders namely Muhammad Danial Ashraf Abdullah, Mohd Imran Samso, Nik Akih Nik Mat and Saiful Alias as well striker Nik Azli Nik Alias.

“Morgano Gomis will be the only import player retained (midfielder) and for the time being we agreed to keep coach Sathit Benson to handle the team training starting on November 20,” she said.

She said Kafa was still negotiating with three Kelantan senior players captain Mohd Badhri Mohd Radzi, midfielder Putra Mahayuddin and striker Mohd Nor Farhan Muhammad on their future.

“We are telling the coaching team to scout for local players outside of Kelantan apart from looking for import players,” she said.

On the sponsorship of the team, she said Kafa was still in discussions with several interested parties. ― Bernama
