KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 — Malaysia's squash queen and eight-time World Champion Datuk Nicol David retained the third spot in the latest Professional Squash Association (PSA) world rankings for the second straight month.
Based on the latest world rankings issued in PSA website www.psaworldtour.com yesterday, the Penangite accumulated 1,101 average points after playing 10 tournaments which was the same spot she occupied last month.
World Champion Egyptian Nour El Sherbini and England’s Laura Massaro also held on to the top and second spots after amassing 1,769 and 1,510 average points, respectively.
Reigning world junior champion Nouran Gohar of Egypt, who knocked out Nicol enroute to claim the Hong Kong Open title last week, pipped her compatriot Raneem El Welily to fourth spot with 1,069 average points while the latter dropped one rung to fifth with 967 average points.
Two other Malaysians — Delia Arnold and Low Wee Wern — suffered contrasting fates as Delia dropped one rung to 18th spot with 275 average points while Wee Wern held on to 27th spot with 190.625 average points. — Bernama
