COPENHAGEN, June 19 — Gary Hunt of Great Britain won the second round of the Cliff Diving World Series held in Copenhagen, Denmark yesterday (June 18).
In cool, windy conditions, Hunt produced a superb dive from the roof of the Copenhagen Opera House to take victory with a score of 550.30 points.
Wildcard entry Kris Kolanus of Poland took second place with 505.15 while Mexican Jonathan Paredes, winner of the opening event in Texas three weeks ago, took third place this time with 500.80.
Hunt, winner of the overall title five times in the last six years, moved up to second place in the 2016 standings, 20 points behind Paredes. They have already pulled out a big lead over third placed Michal Navratil of the Czech Republic on 200 points who finished sixth in Copenhagen.
The third round of the nine-event series takes place in the Azores, Portugal on July 9.
