KOTA BARU, May 7 — Come Saturday, Kelantan will embark on a mission to bag as many goals in their encounter with Pahang in the first leg of the FA Cup semi-final at Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan.

Kelantan midfielder Mohd Nor Farhan Muhammad said the away game would be advantageous to The Red Warriors (TRW) to work out their strategy.

“Firstly, we intend to slot in as many goals as possible while keeping our side intact.

“This is a mission and we really want to make it to the FA Cup final... we are hoping for anything, including a miracle,” he said when met by reporters during a training session at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here today.

He said the team had to quickly put behind their 2-3 loss to Sarawak in Kuching in a Super League match last Saturday and focus on the FA Cup.

“Of course, our players were disappointed after the loss to Sarawak but the coach (Mohd Azraai Khor Abdullah) has managed to keep the spirit of the players up.

“They are, in fact, raring to go to prove something in the coming match. We see Pahang as a strong team and should not be taken lightly,” added Mohd Nor Farhan.

He said the defence had to be wary of their former teammates, Dickson Nwakaeme and Matías Conti, who could create a lot of problems for the TRW.

“Pahang have a line-up of quality import players and we have to be careful,” he said.

The second leg will be held on May 16 at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here. — Bernama
