SINGAPORE, Oct 22 — A second wave of mask distribution will begin on Friday (October 23), expanding eligibility to Singaporeans aged 60 and above, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu said on Thursday.

Speaking with the media at Beo Crescent Market, Minister Fu shared shared that the eligibility age will be lowered from 67 to 60, with eligible Singaporeans able to collect a pack of two masks from community clubs (CCs) or mask vending machines from October 23.

This comes after masks were made eligible to vulnerable Singaporeans last Wednesday following a sharp increase in PM2.5 levels, which saw CCs and mask vending machines dispense N95 masks for those in need.

These vending machines are available at selected public transport hubs, social services offices and People's Association venues.

Haze masks include N95, KN95, FFP2 and KF94 masks.

Those eligible in the first wave but have yet to collect their masks can now collect four masks at any CC.

Eligible Singaporeans now include those from the Pioneer Generation, Merdeka Generation, CHAS Orange card holders, CHAS Blue card holders, Medical Fee Exemption Card (MFEC) holders, recipients of ComCare Assistance and Singaporeans aged 60 and above.

Additionally, pregnant women, children and individuals with medical conditions such as athsma can collect masks by presenting their NRIC.

Family members or friends can also collect masks on behalf of the eligible person using their NRIC.
