SINGAPORE, Aug 21 — Eighty‑one suspected drug offenders were arrested in an islandwide operation this week, with officers recovering more than S$105,500 (RM335,762) worth of controlled substances, the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) said.

CNB said that the raids took place across several neighbourhoods, including Toa Payoh, Telok Blangah and Punggol, according to CNA.

Officers seized about 529g of Ice, 375g of heroin, 27g of cannabis, 10g of ketamine, 10g of Ecstasy and 11 Erimin‑5 tablets during the week‑long sweep.

Around midday on Monday, CNB arrested a 38‑year‑old Singaporean man at a lift landing in a Punggol Field block for suspected trafficking offences.

He was escorted to his nearby hideout, where officers forced entry after occupants refused to open the door.

CNB said objects were thrown out of a bedroom window as officers approached, and these were later identified as drug paraphernalia.

Four people inside the unit — a 40‑year‑old foreign national, a 46‑year‑old Singaporean man, a 26‑year‑old Singaporean man and a 36‑year‑old Singaporean woman — were arrested for suspected trafficking offences.

A 40‑year‑old woman who returned to the flat later that day was also taken into custody.

Officers recovered about 439g of Ice, 300g of heroin, 22g of cannabis, 9g of ketamine, 10g of Ecstasy and one Erimin‑5 tablet from various parts of the unit.

The 26‑year‑old man was later escorted to his vehicle, where a small amount of Ice was found.

CNB said officers also seized weapons from the flat, including katanas, knuckledusters, knives and a dagger, which were handed over to the police.

Investigations into the drug activities of all suspects are ongoing.

Under the Misuse of Drugs Act, trafficking, offering to traffic or performing any act preparatory to trafficking a controlled drug is an offence.

Those convicted of trafficking more than 15g of pure heroin or more than 250g of methamphetamine may face the mandatory death penalty.
