SINGAPORE, April 3 — The 48-year-old accused of murdering a 70-year-old man in Geylang was brought back to the crime scene by police today, according to The Straits Times.

Ong Hou Cheong faces charges over the death of Chow Ling Fei, who died in hospital on March 9 after suffering stab wounds to the chest.

Both men reportedly knew each other.

Police had been alerted to a fight in Lorong 16 Geylang at about 8.15am on March 9.

Chow was taken to the hospital unconscious, while Ong, who remained conscious, was charged with murder the following day.

According to the report, Ong was escorted back to the scene at around 9.15am today.

Dressed in a red polo shirt and black shorts, with his hands and feet restrained, he appeared expressionless as officers questioned him in a private car park outside the Shanyuan Ancient Buddhist Lodge.

He was then brought into the car park and in front of the temple, where evidence plates had been placed on the floor.

Ong at times appeared animated, gesturing while responding to officers.

The English daily reported that the session lasted about 20 minutes before he was escorted away. Around 20 onlookers gathered across the road, observing the proceedings.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Chow’s death.
