KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 — The ‘Terminator’ and former California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger is back in action for upcoming Netflix series, Fubar.
The action-comedy show also marks the Predator star’s first ever TV series.
Netflix released a 23-second teaser trailer for Fubar yesterday. It featured Schwarzenegger returning to acting in the most macho manner, which included lighting a cigar, walking away from a dumpster fire and saying the line “I’m back, baby”.
According to Variety, Fubar follows the journey of a father and daughter who discover their entire relationship was built on a lie as both of them are CIA operatives.
With the two of them joining forces, the eight-episode series features themes of family dynamic, humour, action and spies.
“Everywhere I go, people ask me when I’m going to do another big action comedy like True Lies.
“Well, here it is. Fubar will kick your ass and make you laugh — and not just for two hours. You get a whole season,” Schwarzenegger said.
The show will also star Monica Barbaro, Jay Baruchel, Fortune Feimster, Milan Carter, Travis Van Winkle and Gabriel Luna.
Meanwhile, the series creator is helmed by Prison Break writer Nick Santora.
“The thing I always marvelled at was how Schwarzenegger could be funny while still kicking ass,” Santora said.
“That’s why I wanted Fubar to be a hysterical, CIA-spy comedy mixed with heart-stopping action! And it is all that — and more,” Santora added.
Fubar will premiere on Netflix on May 25.
