KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 — Teen singing sensation Tajul Arif has broken his silence, after being labelled a playboy who has a penchant for changing partners on social media.

The 19-year-old singer said there were individuals who created rumours using fake accounts and profile images.

“I’m not the kind of person who quickly blows up despite receiving a lot of criticisms – as a new artiste, I take the comments as self-improvement,” said the Sedalam-Dalam Rindu singer.

“It has reached defamation and for that, I’m not able to keep quiet any longer – — I don’t defend myself, people will think the rumours are true,” he added.

Tajul, who is known for his duet with Wany Hasrita titled Di Sana Cinta Di Sini Rindu, said he normally deletes offensive comments by online user.

“I’ve since blocked haters whom I’ve called #cerdikkidsgeli, luckily there are only two or three of them,” he said.

Tajul recently responded to the negative comments via Instagram Stories.

“Feels like it’s been awhile since we paid attention to these ‘haters’…Once in a while, they need to be silenced and let them feel the heat,” he said in his post.

However, he said he refrained from going overboard by remembering what his mother told him.

“She would say, ‘Ignore those who want to bring us down because it’s a reflection of their own life failures’,” he added.

“If someone has an issue with me, I’d rather they DM (direct message) me on Instagram – who knows it could cure their problems.”

Tajul is currently focusing on his mini-album project, slated for release next month. He will appear in his film debut, Engine No 9, on March 29.
