KUALA LUMPUR, May 11 — Police have arrested a 26-year-old Proton Inspira driver following a three-vehicle collision on the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) that went viral on social media, according to Free Malaysia Today (FMT).

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the accident occurred at about 11pm on May 9 at Km28 of the highway heading towards the Duta toll plaza.

He said the Proton Inspira had skidded and stopped in the fast lane before it was hit by a Proton Wira and a Toyota Hilux.

“The impact caused the vehicles to veer into the left road barrier, resulting in heavy damage to all three vehicles,” he said in a statement cited by FMT.

No injuries were reported among the drivers involved.

Zamzuri said the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.

“Actions taken include obtaining CCTV footage from the scene, recording witness statements, visiting the scene, and inspecting and photographing the vehicles involved,” he was quoted as saying.
