LONDON, July 18 — Actor Rowan Atkinson was the victim of an online hoax over the weekend.
A viral Facebook post claimed that the comedian had committed suicide after “battling severe depression” following a “struggle with alcohol and drugs”.
Although the actor has yet to address the hoax publicly, UK’s The Sun newspaper confirmed that Atkinson is “alive and well”.
The Blackadder and Mr Bean star has been the subject of previous death hoaxes, most notably in 2012, when a Twitter rumour claimed that he had died in a car accident.
