LOS ANGELES, April 19 — Jurassic World producer Frank Marshall and director Colin Trevorrow have taken to Twitter to announce Juan Antonio Bayona will take charge of the blockbuster’s sequel.

Trevorrow tweeted: “Proud to collaborate with one of my favourite filmmakers on the next Jurassic adventure. JA Bayona, it’s all yours”, while Marshall wrote: “Thrilled to announce JA Bayona is on board to direct JW2. Welcome to the team @FilmBayona!”.

Bayona’s previous work includes: The Impossible and The Orphanage and, most recently, When A Monster Calls.

Jurassic World smashed box office records when it debuted last year, scoring the biggest domestic opening of all-time with US$205 million (RM800 million) (via Variety). — AFP-Relaxnews
