LOS ANGELES, Sept 2 — HBO’s “Game of Thrones” was already the most pirated TV show of all time, but now it’s set a new Guinness World Record for the largest TV drama simulcast.

According to the Guinness World Records site, “Game of Thrones” edged out “CSI”, which set the record only five weeks earlier. The series episode one of its fifth season was broadcast in 173 countries simultaneously to help it set the new world record.

Actress Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, accepted the Guinness award on behalf of “Game of Thrones”.

Speaking of Guinness records, Taylor Swift also hauled in the award for most million-selling weeks on US albums charts. As the only act to hold three million-selling weeks, Swift star nabbed the record with first-week sales of her albums “Speak Now”, “Red” and “1989.”

Ed Sheeran too earned a spot in the new Guinness World Records 2016 book for setting a record for the Longest climb to No.1 on the UK singles chart. The British singer-songwriter’s 2014 ballad “Thinking Out Loud” took a record-breaking 19 weeks to reach the top of the UK’s Official Singles Chart.
