KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 — Eco World Development Group Berhad and Sunway Building Materials Group are among the best hirers in the Malaysia, according to the Best Employers Malaysia survey for 2016

The poll conducted by management consulting firm Aon Hewitt also found Eco World — which positions itself as a “benchmark” property developer in eco development with major projects across the country – as the “Best of the Best Employers”.

Starbucks Coffee Malaysia, a previous winner, and another developer, SP Setia Berhad, were also named in the top 10.

The study is conducted using parameters such as high employee engagement, effective leadership, compelling employer brand, and a high performance culture.

“By creating experiences that deliver positive impact on engagement levels, Best Employers in Malaysia are also reaping benefits from a financial standpoint- in spite of challenging business environment,” Aon Hewitt Malaysia managing director Prashant Chadha said during a press conference to announce the results today.

Other special awards given out include the Best Employer for Women award, which went to American Express (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, and the Best Employer for Gen Y prize that was awarded to solar panel maker First Solar Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

The study, now in its 16th year since its inception in 2001, was conducted by Aon Hewitt in partnership with Talentcorp Malaysia, a Putrajaya-backed initiative to enhance graduate employability, optimise Malaysian professionals, engage Malaysians abroad, and facilitate top expatriate talents in Malaysia.

Aon Hewitt also said the employers selected in their awards achieved on average 33 per cent higher revenue and 62 per cent better profits than is typically reported.
