KUALA LUMPUR, June 4 — The ringgit opened lower versus the US dollar in early trade, a dealer said.
At 9.16am, the local unit traded at 3.6880/6900 from 3.6840/6870 at 5 pm yesterday.
Against a basket of four major currencies, the ringgit was traded lower.
It declined against the Singapore dollar to 2.7453/7472 from 2.7331/7364 and versus the yen it dropped to 2.9658/9686 from 2.9626/9657 yesterday.
Vis-a-vis the British pound, the local currency depreciated to 5.6522/6579 from 5.6251/6308 yesterday, while against the Euro it fell sharply to 4.1542/1575 from 4.0996/0044. — Bernama
