KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 — Shares on Bursa Malaysia remained in the red mid-morning with the KLCI 11.34 points easier at 1,752.73 points.
Weighing on the index were consumer-linked bluechips Dutch Lady, which fell RM1.78 to RM45.02 and Panasonic Manufacturing, which erased 40 sen to RM21.90.
Market breadth was negative with losers outpacing gainers 455 to 147 while 252 counters were unchanged, 973 untraded and 25 others were suspended.
Turnover stood at 717.63 million shares worth RM489.38 million.
Among key heavyweights, Maybank eased 12 sen to RM9.03, Tenaga dwindled 2.0 sen to RM13.28, Public Bank lost 30 sen to RM18.70 and Axiata remained unchanged at RM6.60.
Among actives, Xinghe and Frontken eased half-a-sen each to 6.5 sen and 28.5 sen, respectively, while Sumatec added 1.0 sen to 20 sen.
On the scoreboard, the FBM Emas Index decreased 71.05 points to 12,128.94, the FBM Emas Shariah was down 55.33 points at 12,617.06 and the FBMT100 Index inched down 71.74 points to 11,809.52.
The FBM Ace depreciated 49.06 points to 6,662.35 and the FBM 70 decreased 62.84 points to 13,270.43.
On a sectoral basis, the Finance Index slid 122.03 points to 15,607.05, the Plantation Index shed 58.55 points to 7,348.18 and the Industrial Index fell 15.77 points to 3,189.1. — Bernama
