KUALA LUMPUR, May 11 — Malaysia's crude palm oil stocks (CPO) rose 17.59 per cent to 2.19 million tonnes at end-April 2015 against 1.87 million tonnes recorded in March.

In a statement today, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) said stocks of processed palm oil fell 3.59 per cent to 923,751 tonnes for the month under review.

It said palm kernel stocks increased 27.43 per cent to 173,528 tonnes and crude palm kernel oil stocks eased 4.63 per cent to 128,271 tonnes.

Processed palm kernel oil stocks rose 20.44 per cent to 126,859 tonnes while April and palm kernel cake stocks were 20.81 per cent higher at 278,712 tonnes, it said.

MPOB said the CPO production in April improved 13.26 per cent to 1.70 million tonnes versus 1.49 million tonnes the previous month.

Palm kernel production gained 14 per cent to 432,429 tonnes, while crude palm kernel oil output was 3.41 per cent better at 182,114 tonnes and palm kernel cake production inched up 3.79 per cent to 201,278 tonnes, it said.

It said palm oil exports, however, were slightly lower at 1.175 million tonnes, down 0.59 per cent in April against 1.182 tonnes in March 2015.

Biodiesel exports declined by 77.44 per cent to 186 tonnes from the previous month, it said.

MPOB said CPO imports in April increased 118.49 per cent to 29,489 tonnes while processed palm oil stocks added 9.45 per cent to 30,729 tonnes compared with March. — Bernama
