KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 ― The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) remained lower mid-morning on continued profit taking activities, dealers said.
At 11.02am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 1.62 points lower at 1,817.48.
A dealer said the market is taking a breather as traders booked profits from three days of straight gains.
On other scoreboards, the FBM Emas Index firmed 6.62 points to 12,476.21, the FBM Emas Syariah Index added 8.96 points to 13,067.94 and the FBM Ace jumped 41.11 points to 7,012.26.
The FBMT100 Index climbed 1.22 points to 12,166.33 and the FBM 70 rose 48.14 points at 13,367.97.
The Finance Index improved 24.31 points to 16,105.31, the Industrial Index edged up 1.38 points to 3,348.22 but the Plantation Index contracted 22.68 points to 7,785.15.
Gainers led losers 322 to 284 with 286 counters unchanged, 893 counters untraded and 20 others were suspended.
Turnover stood at 873.49 million shares worth RM471.65 million.
Among actives, Privasia and Genetec were flat at 37.5 sen and 22.5 sen, respectively.
Perisai Petroleum gained 3.5 sen to 57.5 sen and Sumatec and EA Holdings earned half-a-sen each to 22.5 sen and 13 sen, respectively.
Of heavyweights, Maybank and Axiata added one sen each to RM9.22 and RM7.07, respectively, Public Bank gained two sen to RM18.58, Sime Darby climbed three sen to RM9.29 and TNB lost four sen to RM14.46. ― Bernama
