KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 — The signing of a Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) between the Unity Government, Bersatu and several independent Members of Parliament yesterday marks a significant step towards strengthening political stability and ensuring continuity in the nation’s administration.

Sekijang MP Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa said the agreement provided greater assurance that the economic development agenda, implementation of Budget 2027 and institutional reforms could proceed in a more orderly manner.

“In an increasingly challenging global economic environment, political stability and policy certainty are essential to maintaining investor confidence and safeguarding the well-being of the people.

“More interestingly, at a time when certain quarters remain intent on political manoeuvring to undermine the government, today’s development proves that political differences need not hinder cooperation in the national interest,” she said in a Facebook post.

Dr Zaliha, who is also the Madani Government Backbenchers Club (BBC) chairman, expressed hope that the move would allow all MPs to focus on their respective responsibilities and ensure that approved policies and allocations genuinely benefit the people.

She stressed that political stability was not merely about who held power, but also about ensuring that the country could continue moving forward without its economic progress being hampered by political power struggles.

The Madani Government yesterday signed a CSA with six Bersatu MPs led by party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, along with seven other lawmakers, including Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman. — Bernama
