KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 — Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has described any move by Lebanese jewellery firm Global Royalty Trading SAL to enforce a RM67.5 million judgment against her as premature, given that her appeal has yet to be heard.

Her solicitors, Messrs Reza Rahim & Rajivan, said the Court of Appeal has fixed 25 March next year to hear her appeal against the High Court’s decision, NST reported.

“We are instructed by our client to state that any attempt by Global Royalty to enforce or execute the judgment shall be resisted vigorously by our client.

“Our client has consistently maintained that the claim by Global Royalty against her is unsubstantiated and therefore without any basis in fact and/or in law,” they said.

The statement comes after Global Royalty counsel Datuk David Gurupatham confirmed yesterday that the company would proceed with enforcement, following Rosmah’s failure to deposit RM67,461,027.37 into a stakeholder account within the stipulated period.

On September 23, the Court of Appeal dismissed Rosmah’s application for an unconditional stay of execution.

The appellate court had instead granted a conditional stay, requiring her to deposit the judgment sum into a stakeholder account within one month.
