KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today promised to heed petrol station operators’ concerns over alleged losses stemming from oil price fluctuations.
Anwar told Parliament this morning that he would instruct Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan to meet them and obtain more information.
“I will ask Finance Minister II to help obtain more details, as well as discuss this with oil companies,” Anwar said in reply to a supplementary question by Ipoh Timur MP Howard Lee Chuan How.
“So far, they have given full cooperation, otherwise it would not have been possible for us to implement the targeted RON95 petrol and diesel subsidies effectively,” he added.
“If there are shortcomings, I am sure, God willing, we will be able to work out a solution.”
