KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 — PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail today said the claim that Perikatan Nasional (PN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin’s claim that they have statutory declarations (SD) of more than 112 MPs are “premature, impossible, and inconclusive.”

The PKR man said that based on Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s statement as Umno chairman, any negotiation outside the party by Umno members is invalid and cannot be considered support for any prime minister candidate.

“It can also cause them to lose their seats as agreed in the SD they have signed. Pakatan Harapan has entered a serious negotiation phase with Barisan Nasional (BN).

“The negotiations have discussed the main issues that touch on political stability and economic recovery, by putting the interests of the people and the state as a priority. The outcome of the discussion will be finalised in the near future,” Saifuddin said in a statement.

Meanwhile, he debunked the rumour of Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein apparently claiming that 10 Umno MPs are backing PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as their prime minister candidate, saying it is simply “not true.”

PN announced today it has duly submitted the statutory declarations of more than 112 MPs.

Its secretary-general Hamzah said the SDs outlined the signatories’ support for PN chairman Muhyiddin as the prime minister candidate.

In the meantime, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim can be seen having a discussion with Ahmad Zahid to possibly form a stable unity federal government with BN.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong has extended the 2pm deadline for political parties to prove their majority for government formation and prime minister candidate originally set for today, till tomorrow.
